The EQ2EmuLauncher was created by Jabantiz, and is maintained by him. Using this launcher makes it easy to switch between the client connecting to emulator, live, localhost, or a Private server (custom). This guide will help you setup the launcher to connect to the emulator. I used the original setup guide created by Jabantiz for this setup guide.
Launcher is now on GitHub. Look in the releases assets for the latest binaries, or download directly instead.
You can download the latest file from the SVN. The login credentials are SVN Username: anonymous (no password required) If you wish to compile the launcher yourself then you can grab the source here.
The EQ2EmuLauncher.exe will run from any location, so you can place the EQ2EmuLauncher.exe file anywhere you would like and it will execute. I try to organize as best as I can so I have created a folder called EQ2 on my C:\ drive, and inside that folder I created EQ2Emu Launcher folder where I put my EQ2Launcher.exe. Create a shortcut to the desktop, or pin to start menu, for easy access later.
When you first run the launcher you will be greeted with this page here.
Once you have the launcher open you will need to setup your client location, and your login information. To do this you will need to open the settings menu by clicking on the tab with the hammer and wrench on it. You are in the right spot when the window has Clients, Accounts, and Characters on the left menu.
You need to add a client. To do this click on the word Clients to make sure you are adding to the clients section and not any other. Click on the Add button and in the Name: field put a unique name for your client for easy identification. In this guide I use my emulator copy of Destiny of Velious so I named mine EQ2 DoV. This will help you to identify between multiple client version you have added. In the Client Location: filed use the three box with three dots and find the location of the client you are going to use. My copy of DoV is located in C:\EQ2DoV. Choose the folder and not the actual exe file. When finished click on the save button and it will now be in the drop down menu at the top.
Setting up your accounts. Click on the word Accounts to setup your EQ2Emulator account. Next click on the add button and in the Account NickName: put a name you can identify as your emulator account. I used EQ2Emulator to show that this account belongs to EQ2Emulator. This will help you identify different accounts for the emu, live, local, and private servers. Provide your username in the Username: field, and the password in the Password: field. Note you will see your actual password and not ******* like in the image below. Click on the save button and your account will be added to the drop down box at the top.
Setting up your characters. At the time of this guide I am having some trouble with this section. Until I can confirm that I have everything set up properly I am skipping this section.
When you are finished click on the word done, and you will be returned to the main window of the launcher. You should now see EQ2 DoV in the first drop down section. If not click on the arrow on the right and choose it. In the second drop down section you should see EQ2Emulator. Again if it is not there click on the arrow on the right and choos it. Next make sure you have the Emu button selected. When it is it will be greyed out. Now you can click on the Launch button and your client will launch and you will be taken to the character picker screen.
