The very first thing that needs to be done is make sure you have the full client and not the streaming client. There will be instructions on how to tell which one you have. There will also be instructions on getting the streaming client to work, but beyond that there may be no support.

Backing up the client

I prefer to call it creating a emulator client, but essentially the same thing. Locate the install directory. This is usually in C:\users\public\Sony Online Entertainment. Inside that dir there is a folder EverQuestII, and all the installed files are located there. Highlight the folder, right click, and copy. Once this is done head over to the root of your hard drive this is C:\. Once there create a folder and name it EQ2Emu clients. Highlight the folder you just created, right click, and paste. This will make a copy of the entire EverQuestII folder into the EQ2Emu clients folder, and this is the client you will use to connect to the emulator.
