In the latest release (0.7.2), many features have been implemented. See the Project Status Module for a complete list. We are still in an ALPHA development stage, so nothing is 100% complete. Combat, spells, quests, items, loot, even mounts have found their way into the code. Everything requires a second look, so when you are playing on an EQ2Emulator, we ask that you utilize the /bug command in-game and report anything you find that is not working.
To play on the emulator you must first have a legal copy of a compatible Everquest II client. See compatible clients list This includes a copy of the free "live" client downloaded directly from SOE. Support for live can be added if there is enough interest.
Asking on the forums on how to illegally get Everquest 2 is frowned upon, you will not receive an answer and you may possibly be banned, so please do not ask this question.
There are a few things that must be done before you can play.
Setting up the client
The client must be installed and configured to connect with the EQ2Emulator server.
For the DoV box set use the DoV setup guide.
For a live (free download) client use the live setup guide
You must register a forum account. Here is a account setup guide for detailed instructions.
Depending on your client you may need the EQ2Emu Patch Utility. Here is the patcher utility guide to help you correctly patch your client.
This last tool is not a requirement, but is recommend and is The EQ2Emu Launcher. It makes launching your client a breeze. There is a launcher guide to help you configure the launcher.
