Looking to run your own server? This page will host links to the files you need, tools to help you develop your server, and tutorials to make setup easy and less confusing.

Every server falls under two categories. Either Public or Private, see below for description. Every server also falls into a specific type. Example of a type would be PVP, see below for different types. Knowing the type of server you want will help you better prepare you server for the best player experience possible.

Public Servers

This is a server that is hosted by you and your world connects to the EQ2Emulator loginserver. Those with accounts on EQ2Emulator will be able to access your server directly from the public loginserver. This means you can focus on your world development, and not accounts as well as hosting a loginserver alongside your world server.

Private Servers

This is a loginserver as well as world server hosted by you. No one can access your server unless you give them the info to connect to it. Private servers must keep up with their own user accounts.

Server Types

What type of player base your server has will depending on what type of server you have. Understanding these different types will help you customize your world to suit the needs of your player base. Find out the different types on the Server Types page.

Server Setup Guide

This section will show you how to setup and run a server on your computer. You can choose to use the public login, or use the minilogin to connect to your server. Server Setup Guide
