EQ2Emulator offers support for many different Retail Box Sets of the Everquest II Client. The current status on which client is supported is listed below. Note that no client is 100% compatible, since the server is still in an Alpha Development state. Those which are partially compatible still may not work 100% of the time, due to the evolution of the server itself.
The details below are current, as of April 2013.
Contents
Rise of Kunark
This retail box set is no longer supported. Although you can connect and play, no further effort towards compatibility is being made by the EQ2Emulator Development Team.

The Shadow Odyssey
This retail box set is no longer supported. Although you can connect and play, no further effort towards compatibility is being made by the EQ2Emulator Development Team.

Sentinel's Fate
This is the oldest client retail box set we are supporting. We do not support the retail box directly, but a "patched" version of this box set should be the most compatible as of this writing. (see this thread)

Halas Reborn
This client was not a Retail Box set, but instead was a digital download mid-way between Sentinel's Fate and Destiny of Velious. Some players might have preserved a backup of this client, who's Everquest2.exe version is around version 6353L or so. If so, you can use this client to connect to EQ2Emulator as well.

Destiny of Velious
This is the last known Retail Box Set provided by Sony, and therefore will likely be the last Retail Box Set EQ2Emulator supports.
Question: I get this window when I click on my character info or other button while in game.
Answer: Rename / Back up your UI folder and use this one instead. (Thank you Xinux. Answer taken from this thread http://www.eq2emulator.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=1535&start=60)

Question: I can't move my "Bottomless Bag of Envy" window, (The huge backpack alpha testers start off with), the backpack is too large to fit on my screen and I can't access the top to move it.
Answer: Move your mouse to the side of the backpacks window until you see the arrow which allows you to make the window wider. Drag the window much wider than it is (20 slots wide probably works) then right click on the window. Select Window settings and then click on the default location button. This will move the window further down in the screen. From there you can adjust the window size to your liking.

Age of Discovery
Everquest 2 went "Free to Play" in the Age of Discovery expansion. This changed the entire dynamic of how EQ2Emulator will progress and support clients in the future. Since EQ2 is now "free" essentially, emphasis on supporting the latest clients in an Emulator has taken a lower priority to making the last Retail Box set 100% compatible (DoV).
However, as of 2013 focus has shifted once again towards keeping live compatible.
Moving forward with any new client support from AoD+ will rely on the individual player taking backups of their EQ2 Live clients as they play EQ2 Live.
AoD is currently NOT supported by EQ2Emulator. When it is, if it is at all, this Wiki page will be updated.
Chains of Eternity
About 85% or higher of clients released in the Chains of Eternity expansion are compatible with the EQ2Emu project. (Most clients from the beginning of 2013-November 2013)
