 Player Vs Enviroment (PVE) projects are servers that focus specifically on single and group player content and generally does not have player vs player combat as a central role.

 Player Vs Player (PVP) servers are orientated around combat between guilds, players and also the environment.

 Development servers are important servers ran by the EQ2EMU team which assist in the testing of the codebase and content.
